Hi! My name is Jamie Goerke. I'm used to the 280 character limit that Twitter gives me, but since I have more room here, let me tell you about myself! I graduated from Binghamton University in December of 2020 with a BA in English and I am looking to go into a career in the realm of public relations and social media. My passion lies in the field of athletics, whether that be college, professional sports, or athlete branding and marketing. I am open to learning and growing in different fields and have done internships in Lifestyle PR, higher education, and non-profit work.

In May of 2021, I began my journey at St. John’ s University as an Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant. The following year, in May of 2022, I transitioned into a hybrid marketing/ communications/ digital media graduate assistant. During my time at St. John's University, I had the opportunity to serve as the primary media contact for the women’s volleyball team and the softball team. In my new hybrid role , I am the sole producer of volleyball home events, inn addition to co-producing both men’s and women’s basketball games. I also work in a social media capacity, primarily working on the Red Storm TikTok. Thanks to my position, I am also receiving a fully-funded Masters Degree in Sport Management. The knowledge I am learning in the classroom is invaluable.

During my undergrad at Binghamton University, I spent two years interning in the Athletic Department. I started there in January 2019 and spent 5 months as a marketing intern, where I worked on game nights providing assistance with various promotions. This role confirmed that working in the athletics industry was for me. Following the role, I spent the next year and a half working as a communications intern, a role where I was so fortunate to learn an grow so much about writing, social media, and connecting with others.

In addition, I took on leadership roles in various different clubs and organizations, including the Dickinson Community Players (a student-run theatre group), Binghamton Dance Marathon (#FTK!), and my sorority, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Pi. I have worked with various different groups off people really honing n my teamwork, leadership development, and communication skills.

I'm incredibly goal-oriented and my major goal for my life is to create a social media movement so powerful it breaks the internet. In my free time, I love to write poetry, read thriller novels and trashy romance books, hang out with friends, watch and perform in theater, and take photos of nature and my friends!
